'Star Wars Rebels' short focuses on artistic Sabine
Boba Fett was never this artistic — or this much of a good guy.
But another Mandalorian warrior named Sabine Wren makes her presence known to the Empire in a new Star Wars Rebels animated short premiering Monday on Disney XD and StarWars.com. In the second of four weekly sneak peeks, fans will get a good look at the character, voiced by Tiya Sircar, and her artistry before Rebels premieres as a one-hour special in October on Disney Channel. It will then move to a series on Disney XD.
The first short focused on the motley crew of the starship Ghost — the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance of the original Star Wars movie trilogy — fending off some TIE Fighters in space, but this Monday's clip is a bit more grounded. It focuses on Sabine "tagging" parked TIE Fighters with her signature graffiti, though she doesn't make friends with a couple of Stormtroopers.
"She does everything with flair," Sircar said of her rebellious explosives expert in April. "When she's blowing stuff up, she's doing it artfully."
